Ray Noland dropped a fresh piece today – the Michelle Obama “First” print. Meant to accompany the Barack Obama “First” that was released last month, Michelle is 18″x24″, limited to only 100, signed and numbered on Royal Fiber 100lb and will run you $75.

While we’re on the subject of Ray, the latest Ludacris video actually features one of his stencils-

What's next, Obama's mother-in-law? The Obama girls' new dog? Seriously, we have to draw the line somewhere. I think Obama relatives, no matter how historic, is too much. To paraphrase a previous commenter, these artists have "jumped the spouse."

I hope somebody does make art of the Obama girls' dog if the spirit moves them. If you've seen CRO's exhibits you will understand this guy is no poseur- they are tight in concept, high-spirited, and true to the street art form. This guy works HARD and has an incredible talent. Take a few minutes to check out Ray Noland's exhibits on Flickr and see what I am talking about: http://www.flickr.com/photos/gotellmama/If he wanted to exploit his talent he could have easily done it already.

I don't doubt the guy's talent or spirit, but right now my feeling is he's in the spirit to make money. And I'm in the spirit to keep mine for more important things.

Ray may be in the spirit of making money, but that is probably because he spent most of the last year and a half making Obama art, sending it out to his fans and supporters to spread the message, traveling around the country to various cities to display said art and spread said message, and basically doing everything he possibly could to help get Obama elected. He deserves a little compensation if you ask me. I don't think this image is as good as the original First print, but hey, stop sippin' the hatorade and give him some props. I mean a Luda video — that shiz is tight!

Obama art should only be about him and not family.I think these artists should stop going beyond Barak Obama.

First lady is not the same as mother-in-law. A First Lady may head national programs and may represent our country around the world, like it or not, even if unelected.I think the piece beautiful. I also think that it is worth purchasing if you appreciate Michelle Obama, i.e., if you feel you can relate to her as a woman. That is why I purchased it. I do not expect a market for Michelle Obama art to develop. I simply think that she is a great model of a woman as a wife and mother(yes! nuclear families live! loving husbands and wives aren't myths!). I'd be lying if I said I am not happy also to see that image in come in the form of a black woman for a change. Onward to the White House!
